The endearingly run-down atmosphere of the port city of Gdynia makes an interesting contrast to the more cultured Gdańsk. The northernmost section of the Trójmiasto, Gdynia was originally a small Kashubian village, and from the fourteenth to the eighteenth century the property of the Cistercian monks of Oliwa.
