Take an unforgettable excursion to this quaint little town in a remote corner of the Sierra Nevada. Although the place is practically inaccessible, its charm and popularity are so strong, that you will need to make accommodation reservations well in advance through the nearest INPARQUES office. To get there: take the road from the Loma Redonda Cable Car Station, which is a six hour hike or four hour mule-ride. If you have a four-wheel drive vehicle, you can use the road that starts in the southern town of El Morro, although it still takes five hours to cover the 66 kilometres. Either way, when you reach your objective, you will find yourself in a pre-Hispanic paradise, 2,440 metres above sea level, inhabited by around two thousand laborious and hospitable contemporary Andean farmers.
