Situated in the hilly area above Zaimoku Beach where it was removed in 1243 is this grand and dignified Jodo sect temple. Several buildings make up the big complex. It was established by Tsunetoki Hojo, the fourth regent and gained stature through the patronage of the Tokugawas. Komyo-ji is highly acclaimed for its stone lanterns. Of the graves, the most impressive are those connected with the Naito family.
