The Heilig Geist Spital used to be a hospital in the middle ages but today, the building which towers over the river Pegnitz is a restaurant. The architectural masterpiece oozes tradition and tourists and locals alike come here to enjoy the finest regional cuisine and Bavarian beer. The wines are exclusively Franconian and although this area of Germany is known for its meat dishes, the Heilig Geist Spital also caters for Vegetarians. There is a standard menu as well as a children's menu, with meals being named Miss Piggy, Pumukl and the like. All in all, the Spital has something for all age groups and tastes.
