To fly a foot-launched glider in New Zealand you have to be registered with a club. The friendly and experienced members here will ensure your gliding is safe and enjoyable. The club maintains several flying sites in the Wairarapa and on the Kapiti Coast. Most of these sites are suitable for ridge or coastal soaring although some thermal gliding is available. Club membership includes affiliation to the national body, insurance and subscription to a useful magazine. Age or gender is not a barrier to this lofty sport.
