Britain's largest Anglican Cathedral boasts of the highest Gothic arches and heaviest ring of bells, with the magnificent tower enhancing the city's skyline. The foundation stone was laid in 1904 and the building of this epic landmark continued until 1978. In addition to traditional services, there are also a number of concerts, exhibitions, recitals and graduation ceremonies held here. Within the gallery, visitors can view a unique collection of Victorian and Edwardian embroidery and tours of the Cathedral are arranged on request. The entry to the Cathedral is free, while a fee is charged for visits to the Embroidery Collection.
