Located within the Liberty Memorial , this museum is a memorial to the Great War (1914-1918). It was constructed at a whopping price of over a 100 million dollars and it stands on the former grounds of the old Liberty Memorial Museum. Some of the exhibits display field equipment, artillery, helmets, body armor and uniforms, as well as a somber field of 9,000 red poppy flowers; each one represents 1,000 dead soldiers. This is an excellent place to come and understand the scope and realities of the war, as well as the tragedy.
