St-Jacques le Majeur, a 15th-century Gothic church, attracts numerous tourists to the small town of Bar-sur-Loup. The church houses the famous 15th-century Danse Macabre (funeral dance) wooden painting. As the story goes, the floor collapsed during the famous Lenten Ball, killing and injuring several dancers. This moment in history is depicted in this painting. Also worth a look is the altarpiece, which was created by the talented Louis Brea, a famous 16th-century artist.
