This is one of the many RSPB-managed sites in the North of Scotland. Set on the coast of the Moray Firth, in a forest plantation, Culbin Sands forms one of the largest shingle and sand dune bars in Britain. There is also extensive salt marsh behind. In winter, large numbers of sea ducks can be seen offshore. Bar-tailed godwits, oystercatchers and knots flock at high tide. Culbin Sands is remote, unspoiled and largely undisturbed. Great just for a walk along the beach.
