Housed in the Sociedade de Geografia de Lisboa (Geographical Society of Lisbon), institution founded in 1875. The building comes from 1897. Permanent exhibition with the discovery marks of Diogo Cão, 1st Portuguese navigator in African lands, African sculpture, bronze pieces from Benim, Indian-Portuguese art and other pieces. Library with 65,000 volumes and 6,000 geographic letters and atlas. It's being restored; therefore the only area to be visited is the room of central and western Africa.
