This building, originally a warehouse for the Charleston indigo crop in the 1850s, is now a beautiful inn with garden courtyard that opened in 1979. It boasts AAA's four-diamond awards for exceptional guest accommodations, service and hospitality. Each of the 40 guest rooms are comfortably furnished with period reproductions, premium bedding and private baths with luxury toiletries. It is located in the heart of the Historic District; guests can easily walk to attractions, shopping and dining or get around town on the city's trolley. Guests will enjoy a sumptuous deluxe Continental breakfast before venturing out and relax in the afternoon with complimentary hors d'oeuvres and beverages. -Natasha Lawrence
