Reasonably priced and modern, the Cloister Inn is no architectural gem by Prague standards but it does offer a sensible option in the Old Town and is near several of its more charming restaurants and cafes. The bright rooms and friendly staff create the warm family-run feeling which is missing from larger, more impersonal hotels. Should the debauchery of Prague night life leave you in need of redemption, there is a convent next door. The Pension Unitas (which is in the same building) is famous for its former status as the prison where Czech President Vaclav Havel served time in his dissident days before the Velvet Revolution.
