Are you a AAA member? If so, they have trip books that you can get (for free) for different areas, including the states and Mexico. We got a "Trip Book" from AAA and will be trying to plan our trip with that. If I find where Univ of G. is, I'll see if I can make any recommendations. Well wishes for your trip.
