Figured we have to start somewhere. From home here in Melbourne, it should take about 3.5 hours to reach Albury.

Really just a big town. If you want to go to the milk factory, frog world (including minigolf) the ledlight factory or anything else, let me know. I normally just drive through here though as it is kind of a dive.

Figured we could go here for lunch. It is a really cool pub from what I remember (last time I went I was eight), and it is worth a look considering it is the first in a world famous chain of pubs, and it is on the main highway.

OK, Well this is about as sleazy as I get. I am willing to indulge in any of the activities Kings Cross has to offer, provided we work on the ground rules that what ever happens on the trip stays on the trip, and that there is more than one individual participating in an activity at one time.

Oh yeah and we will probably by now be starving, and there are heaps of great places to eat out ;D - you thought I was a pervert didn't you!

This place has gotten great reviews, has parking for the car and is so close to the train station that it can not be overlooked. It has everything we could ever want too, including en suites if you want that (I don't care too much) and kitchenette facilities.

We have been here many times (well, Jess and I at least), as it is the area around the harbor. But it is kind of the thing that we will see whenever we go down that end of town, so i threw it on this list. You get a fantastic view of the bridge and the opera house from here.

Figured it might be a good place to stay for lunch, or we just go along it a bit, then hit either center point tower or the rocks for lunch.

Again, this is something I have always wanted to do, and have never gotten around to it, mainly because I always deam it way too expensive. It is right above the Westfield building, and should set us back around $60 per adult! Expensive I know, but you do get a great view, and we all know Sydney is Australia's most expensive city. Should take about an hour.

Failing this, I think we could go down to the rocks and do a tour or something like that - all go all out and climb the harbor bridge - what do you think?

Ok, I have never been here before, but it is right up Jess's ally for food she likes to eat, and I know dan and I eat it too. The reviewer gave it 11/10, and for an entre, main and drinks it set her back $35, which is fantastic. Even my uncle said their curry is to die for.

Maybe dinner?

This place has an awesome club that I went too that looks like a cave inside. It also has heaps of things to do, like Melbourne's casino, just not as grand, or as large.

Looking to go here mainly for a good look around and to do the activities, maybe win some money if we can. I want to avoid their hotel and restaurant areas - they are just too expensive.

BTW they have a no denim policy (which is weird, but it is true - only in Sydney)

City
Coffs Harbour, New South Wales, Australia
Wed Apr 18 3:30pm - Thu Apr 26 12:00pm
Notes
It's on the way - almost there infact, and 5 and a half hours drive from Sydney in good traffic. The problem is it is going to take us right past my family, and we may have to stop in for lunch. That would be at Terrigal. They are great - you would feel comfortable with them.

My cousin Rebecca and her husband live at Coffs harbor and could put us up for the night. Either we stop here, see the sights and stay the night, or we drive right through. Up to you guys.

This is one thing though that we need to know ASAP. I need to let them know, and also we can drive right through easy (saves time and money - but 8 hours driving). Either is OK by me, but again, need to know.

However on the way to Coffs Harbor there is the big banana, the big clam, the big shrimp and some other big crap to look at. You see it on the drive by, i don't know if it is worth stopping in at each.

Not going past this spot on the way back either. We stay or skip forever.

Could swing by it even if we decide to drive by coffs harbor. Then at least it would be a decent rest.

Brisbane
Brisbane, Queensland, Australia
Thu Apr 19 4:00pm - Sat Apr 28 10:00am
Notes
From Coffs Harbour, it is another 4.5 hours to Brisbane. This means we get there at about 4 pm roughly, spend 9 days in Queensland before heading back to cold old Melbourne.

We should look at booking one - two nights accommodation only here for now, then book at the great barrier reef for a night, then back again in Brisbane or the gold coast. That will save us paying for accommodation twice, because to drive the full distance to GBR and back will be killer.

So it is not that cheap, nor that close to Brisbane (it looks like we will be driving about 300Km north to get there), but I figured on the weekend we could all head off to the great barrier reef and learn to dive. It is not like we will do it too often, and it is only going to cost $55 per person for an introductory dive (thats not scuba gear, just a dive mask under water). Figured we could drive out, stay the night, then scoot back to Brisbane in the morning so maz and hugh could start work again on the Monday. What do you say?

The half way point on the way home (going the most direct way), it will take us about 9 hours solid driving to get here from Brisbane, and another 9 hours to get home.

Thankfully, it is a big town with lots to do, and places to stay.

If you want to stay a while, there is the open range zoo, bathurst race way and there is heaps of things like berry picking, go karts, bowling etc. Think Geelong but inland.

Considering we are going in a group of two guys and a girl, where would be the best (and cheapest) places to stay in Sydney, Brisbane and Coffs Harbour? My mate Daniel and I would probably share, with Jess in her own room if co-ed rooms were unavailable.

Also any ideas about what to do in the above mentioned locations?
