My dad's friends own the Pizzeria Ristorante Liston. He met them while he was stationed in Italy in the 60's, and stayed in touch over the years. I'm named after one of the sisters, Santina (my middle name), and finally got to go to Italy, meet Santina, and eat at the restaurant when our family took a trip in 1991. I'd love to go back to Italy.

That is way too cool.

It was hands down our favorite restaurant while in town. It's funny because many people have said that the Veronese are cold compared to other Italian cities.

I can say that we found that to be so untrue, Verona was in many ways the most Italian, not being spoiled but too many tourists.

What a great trip! I can't say i would ever have gone to those cities, but it looks just as amazing as the rest of the country. I hope to make it back to Italy in the next couple years and will definetly try to venture out from just Rome/Venice/Florence.
