Just as a matter of historical fact, the 1996 Olympic Beach volleyball was played in Atlanta on a manufactured beach volleyball set. It was supposed to be in Savannah and the residents were very disappointed when the Atlanta "Beach" got the nod. The only events which were held in Savannah in 1996 were all of the Olympic yachting and windsurfing competitions.

I also visited Charleston and Savannah this year. I was surprised (or maybe I missed it) that you didn't visit any plantations in Charleston. We visited a couple, and thoroughly enjoyed them. We went to Middleton Place. Also, loved the Bed & Breakfast just two blocks from the battery. We took the riverboat ride in Savannah, and many of the things you did also. Wonderful place to visit! Very friendly people.
