Driving along this scenic road starting from Waynesboro upto Roanoke . It agin continues to Gatlinburg via Asheville along Great Smokies. We may not be able to cover the entire stretch of this drive and also due to rock slides near Asheville we want to skip the halfway drive. Though officials have confirmed the reopening of road near Maggie Valley today (Thu 31st Aug), I would be skipping this strech completely from Roanoke to asheville to smokies.

We love the Smokeys. I lived in the Kingsport area in H.S. My wife from Austin Texas,had never been to the Smokeys. I took her to Gatlinburg, Cherokee, Ashville,Kingsport. Johnson City. Lure Lake, Chatanooga. She loves it now, as I do.We are planning a trip soon... I hope. I am retired and she isn't. Waiting on her.

the aquarium is worth it. you can find a coupon in the local paper. stingray bay and the tunnel are fabulous.
