I have been to many of these places. They are good. These are some of themost trendy places in the city

The BUND is really nice. It's the best street in Shanghai. And, yes, it looks best at night. But you should know that the lights shut off early. I think around 10:30pm or 11pm.

that's a nice trip!

thanks for the site info, yes i also have been to most of those places too
hmmm, the street along the bund is verrrrryyyyy nice and charming, also ehm...romantic at night. yes, the light begins at about 6 pm and ends at about 10-11 pm.
i was very disappointed when the last day i went to the bund again, and they turned the light off already (earlier), awww, the bund without light didn't make sense anymore, so i decided, when next time i go there, i'll be there earlier too, and spent my whole night there hahahaha.......... ask your boyfriend or girlfriend to go there, it will build a romantic chemistry lol!!! ^^

I'm going with my 28 yr old daughter and we like to really explore night life, museums, she's a foodie, I'm an anthropologist -- where should we stay? What hotel is good for us in the $80 - $140 price range? Dr Meg Jordan

I have been visited Shanghai, the city is attractive and many interesting place to visit, when you visit there, don,t forget to visit Hangzhou, it is only 3 hours from Shanghai by local train , cost 32 yuan for one trip, departure from SHANGHAI STATION(old station) , if wants more faster ,just use express train from New Shanghai station, it cost for 72 yuan and duration time is 1 hours to Hangzhou.
A lot interesting point to visit and never forget HANGZHOU CITY,PURWANTO-JAKARTA

hi! nice trip and tips! my family and some friends are going to shanghai this april. would it be easy for us to get a taxi at the airport to bring us to the hotel? do taxi drivers there speak English? and, how much would taxi rides cost from the airport to the city center? would it be easy for first time visitors to get around the city? a travel agency is offering us a package but we prefer to go on our own. will we find it easy to get around on our own? thanks!

Hi Wolf, there are many taxis at the airport. So it shouldn't be a problem to get one. Taxi drivers don't speak English though. There is often a person managing the taxi line who may be able to help you tell the taxi driver the name of the hotel. If you are staying at the Marriott, be careful to not get the wrong one because there are 2 Marriotts. And 2 Hyatt Hotels.
Nortmally at hotels, the bellboy will help you tell taxi drivers where to go. And you should get a hotel card, so you can show taxis the card when you want to go back to your hotel. There are plenty of taxis on the streets (except during rush hours and when it's raining, etc). Many hotels also offer tours - you can catch a bus with a tourgroup, and they will give you a basic intro to the city. Otherwise, try follow the places listed in the above itinerary - although they are the BEST places, so some may not be inexpensive. Hope you'll enjoy your trip.
