Hi, I stayed at the hilton in barbados in June. As a matter of fact, my husband and I got married at the Hilton. (Not a planned wedding) This hilton has got to be one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed in. The moment you walk in with the open air lobby and the carribean fruit punch being served, you feel at ease & pampered.
As far as what to do, I would personally wait until you get there to make that decision. The hotel has a full time person in the lobby just waiting to help you and get your tickets. The tours pick you up in the entrance outside the lobby. For us, it was nice to get there talk to the natives and figure it out as we went along. Totally no stress.
With regards to the overall service. This hilton truly made us feel like kings and queens. Top Notch service. And Barbados has the nicest people in the world. When we flew in I was wound up so tight I couldnt see straight, and when we left, all seemed right with the world. What an incredible vacation! Good luck to you!!!
