This trip is something of a dream for my daughter and I. I have been planning to take her for quite a few years but something always seems to take the money each year..braces, vet bill, car problems etc... hopefully this year it will be smooth sailing...we are praying :)

I am wondering if anyone has tried any of the items I have scheduled in our trip plan and how it went for them... also if you have any suggestions and comments on how to get around the Island without a car that would be great.

This trip sounds great. My mom is a single mom also and a week of vacation spent like that would be great. This vacation will be one of our goals. Thanks for the great ideas!!

I would suggest renting a car.. there are some places that rent cars for $25 a day. Its definately worth it. If not youll probably have to check out the bus system, its awfully expensive getting around and calling a cab everywhere you go. It will be way cheaper over all just renting. Check out the local renting company's instead of Alamo, Hertz ect. You guys will definately be busy! You have alot planned! Be sure to check out the Hilton Waikoloa Village, beautiful resort, and you can go in walk around eat brunch ect. Also Dolphin Quest is there. Have fun!
