Notes
Today is our first day in South Africa. We woke up today on an airplane and soon after, we landed in Johannesburg Airport. After the immigration office and baggage claim we went to pick up the car we were going to rent. The company we chose was Europcar. We picked up a red Toyota Corolla. This is a pretty suitable car for a family of four. Our big luggage (5 pieces) fit into the trunk and even a few pieces of our carry on. Our objective was to hide all of our luggage so it didn't look like we were tourists. By the way the driving is on the left side in SA. After receiving the car we started driving towards Graff-Reinet. This place was 900 miles from Jo-burg, so obviously we had a lot of driving to do and we had to reach in the early evening because it's not safe to drive at night. At around lunchtime we stopped in a town called Bloemfontein. We ate lunch at a place called Romans Pizza. We thought that the pizza would be normal like cheese with tomato sauce, but we were wrong. Pizza at Roman's was different then pizza in other places. The toppings were the same but the sauce was different. It was a sweet BBQ sauce! Then we headed back to the road.
