I too visited Kahului in March of 2006. In 2004 I had visited Oahu, staying in Honolulu and thoroughly enjoyed all 7 days of my visit. I was eager to once again experience Hawaii, which was my motive for arranging a vacation to Maui. My Maui experience was far less enjoyable than Oahu - this island lacks the natural beauty of Oahu, is also more expensive to for food and entertainment. During my stay in Honolulu, I was able to walk to two great beaches, many great restuarants and a super mall. During my vacation at Maui, I was forced to rent a car, so that I could travel to Lahaina for food, shopping and entertainment. The only redeeming part of my recent trip was my stay at Maui Seaside hotel. My next trip to Hawaii will definitely be Honolulu.

All my trips to Hawaii have been enjoyable! My major travel has been to Maui, love everything about it. Have been to Oahu to the polynesian cutural center, it was nice but would not go again. Honululu was to citish for me, love the fact that Maui was more to do with in walking distance did'nt have to rent a car if you did'nt want to. Lots of great food and nice people can't wait to go back!

Hawaii is always my favorite every summer. I have been to every island. I like Big Island the most. The island is seperated into 2 virtually different climates. Kona is a hot (climate and others) tourist district as compare to Hilo (rainly and had a lot of beautiful water falls), a slow pace local town. There are a lot of places to vist such as the volcano, black sand beach ( swim with the turtles etc), a lot of places to snorkles or scuba dive. You definitely need a car to go around. People are friendier than those big city folks.

I was in Hawaii in 2004 and again in 2005. My husband and I have done a lot of traveling in the past 17 years and none can compare to our trips to Hawaii. We have been to the Big Island, Maui, Kaui and Ohau. It is very hard to pick a favorite Island, they are all so beautiful. We are planning another trip at the end of the year and can't wait.
