Vancouver to Alaska

A trip from May 23, 2005 to June 07, 2005, travelling to Cooper Landing, Juneau, Whittier, Seward …
We flew from Hawaii to Vancouver, spent four days there … More  
We flew from Hawaii to Vancouver, spent four days there, and cruised to Alaska. The cruise is for 7 days visiting Juneau, Ketchikan, Sitka, and finally landing at Whittier. We spent four days in Alaska visiting Denali and Anchorage, and flew back to Vancouver and then to Hawaii.

We did not stay in the hotel but visited their log house restaurant. Fantastic food, with a lot of character, and the staff were kind and friendly.

Avoid 'Sues Teriyaki Kitchen'. We had food poisoning from eating shrimp fried rice there.

Notes
Because of the food poisoning, we rested the entire day at the hotel except for a couple of strolls along the water. We stopped by and watched the skinning of the salmon by folks who came back from the fishing trip. The carcass and the remains are thrown in the water for recycling. There is not much to do in the town (rides/trips start from here) but neverthless enjoyed the leisurely strolls. Exit glacier is close by but decided not to visit this day.
