London for a first-timer

A trip from September 12, 2006 to September 14, 2006, travelling to London, Richmond

This is a trip plan for my teammate, Keri, and her husband (the first-timer). Having lived in London for the past 9 years, I wanted to create the quintessential London experience in 3 days. Hence, the itinerary is pretty agressive.

The trip has been carefully planned so that each item on the itinerary flows geographically, although I haven't been able to place the items in the exact order I would like, so you should read the notes.

Day 1 starts in Central London and moves across Westminster bridge, eastwards down the Southbank, through Canary Wharf and over to Greenwich. Before returning to London Bridge and Central London in the evening.

Day 2 focuses on South-West London solely.

While Day 3 offers a chance to get out of the hustle and bustle through a boat trip to Richmond & Kew in the morning before heading pack to Central London and Covent Garden in the evening.

I plan on going to Scotland in the fall, and we are most likely going to fly into London first and then rent a car. My friend is a go with the flow kind of person and doesn't like to be tied down to a very specific itinerary, what do you suggest we see and do?
