Reservation for one at 6.30pm. I ordered roasted piglet, but wish I had ordered the smoked duck instead, because I saw my fellow diner's plate and it looked good! Very nice place (very historic) and the food was good. I think that it's worth going because the atmosphere was very nice and pretty, the waitstaff were very professional and friendly, and the food was good (have I mentioned that the food was good?!). Try the lamb or smoked duck, though! Piglet was a little too porky for my taste. Dessert was fantastic.

The problem with the tour is that it is conducted in so many languages that you start to tune out after a while, so you miss the English bits as well. But it was a nice way to be introduced to the city.

Reservations have not been made. Suggest to make reservation for 2 at 7pm.

My view: we didn't go here in the end. We ended up at an Ethiopian restaurant that I spotted in a local magazine -- Semhaz at Marnix Straat 259 near Jordaan District. The only other place I've tried Ethiopian cuisine is on 47th Street in Philadelphia, PA, and that was divine. Semhaz was great too (just not as good as it was in Philadelphia). Downside was that the setup was plain (old-looking tables and chairs). But if you're game to try it, I highly recommend it!

We went into one of the Bulldog chains that you see at almost every street corner. Because it's more touristy, there weren't any "potheads" in the cafe, which, to me, was a good thing.

Opening hours 9am - 9pm daily. Cannot buy tickets from hotel so you have to queue for this. The lines are shorter towards the end of the day. So go after 5pm.
