I arrived in Manila on August 25, 2011. Picked up my fiance(Zheny) at MNL Airport, stayed at Holiday Inn Robinson Place, Pasag City. Price ok-thru Military Travel Awards/MOAA. Shopping, Eating and fun at the Robinson Mall. On August 27 had Engagement party at Max's Pizza in Cocoolan City with her family. On Aug 29 travel to Tagatay(A first for Zheny). Stayed at the new charming Kendal Place Hotel for 3 days. Nature, country, great facilities and awesome exterior. Banana Trees, Coconut tress, and other natural plants with a awesome pool(too cool to swim). First day, visited Taal Lake. Awesome boat ride then a horse back ride(A first for Zheny) with guide up the mountain to the craters lip. Drove golf balls into crater, bought 'T' shirts with "Survivors". Awesome view. Second day, went to the Peoples Park in Tagatay. A little shopping, A great Zipline ride across the ravine(A first for Zheny). Took Photos. Third day, some shopping in local stores, relaxed at hotel. On fourth day travel back to Manila to the Bay View Hotel on Roxas Blvd in Manila Bay. On the way back the car driver stopped at roadside stands so we browsed looking at local art, furniture and food products. The Car and Driver costs 1500 peso, one way, not bad. We decided to get married at Catholic Church. Zheny and family made plans for Sept 09. I was to leave on Sept 14. On Sept 05 we visited Manila Bay Sea Aqaurium with Zhenys 4 daughters. Wow was that a awesome trip. This is a have to event. On Sept 06 Zheny and I went to Rizals Park. Then a day at Mall of Asia!!!!!!!!!!!! Placed at the waters edge this was my greatest shopping experience in my life. You need 3 days to browse the entire complex at a modest rate. We got married, I returned to the USA and started applying for her VISA. It is now March 20, 2012 and she will be having her medical on March 27, and her interview shortly after, then she gets to travel to USA and we start our life together.

We stayed in Jodie's place. Price per night is reasonable. They own the little eating place right on the beach. You could put your bare feet in the sand while you wait for your order. From your hotel, I think it is a 2 story hotel, you cross the street, and there's the food. breakfast lunch or dinner. The view is the rolling waves and some boaters, children playing on the beach. The waiters are very nice. They even chopped and prepared the "buko" we brought in from our boating trip. From this hotel, we walked along the beach to our right and there we found the "high-end" restaurant. We did not go in because we are not "high-enders"

Cebu is best for us. The hotel we stayed in is about 15 minutes from the airport. I think it is called White Sands. They have a dinner show every weekend. On the second night they have polynesian dances and show. The first night, was the Philippine folkloric dances.. It is a resort hotel we stayed in for 4 nites.
We visited Bohol as a day trip from this hotel in Cebu via the fast ferry. We saw the tarsier monkey, the smallest on earth. I got two sleepy ones in front of me. And my face is still bigger. They are nocturnal. We saw the chocolate hills then we joined a small river cruise with lunch. That was super. The food was good. The "buko" coconut water) was refreshing.
I like Boracay also. Take a boat trip around the Island, with snorkeling and a lunch plus a trip to a park, where you could go inside the caves with the "blow-holes". It was fun, even if we did not go snorkeling ourselves. We just watched the young ones. It was a memorable trip. We also visited Tacloban, the Mactan Islands, and the first cross. Magellan's cross. A landmark when the Philippines converted to Christianity. A park, where Lapu-lapu killed Magellan was well kept. we saw a part of Philippine history. and so much more. Plan to have a 30-day+ trip

I am from the Philippines. This is just 1 out of the many possible adventure you can do in our country.. try to go in Caramoan,Cam Sur., Palawan or even Camiguin or Guimaras for Beach Summer get away(Island Hoping, Scuba, and a lot). But if you want to see vintage house and great culture go to Batanes, ilo ilo and Vigan (its just like you go back to the past)ridding a horse as a means of tranportation and different variety of food. If you are nature lover go to Bohol or Tagaytay. You know what guys our country have so much to offer. Place, Hospitality and culture. Just try it and you will never regret.

Manila is so historical by its nature from being a colony of spain for 300 years....there are a lot of hotels, and adventure sites, from luzon, the largest island of the philippines where manila is located at its heart, vizayas the nearest gateway and mindanao, ethnic capital of the philippines. we are catering the cheapest and the most expensive hotels and resort, it can cost you up to $20,000.00/per night at Amanpulo, where Mariah Carey stayed for a night...hotels are all over the metro, parks are abundant by location, and people are great...visit us, you'll discover how great manila is...from the most Adventist to the most sophisticated side of the city...
