Anyone know good beach towns on the East Coast that fit into and/or replace Stamford and Point Pleasant Beach. Are these good beach towns??? Basically looking for a place to spend some time in the sun on our way from Boston, through Philly and Down to D.C.

Would also love some pointers on good cities to go in between, and if the cities I have chosen are good or not.
