Northern Arizona Vacation

A trip from September 05, 2006 to September 12, 2006, travelling to Flagstaff, Sedona, Camp Verde, Grand Canyon
Fly into Phoenix in the AM on 9/5. Drive up through Sedona … More  
Fly into Phoenix in the AM on 9/5. Drive up through Sedona's Oak Creek Canyon and stay in Flagstaff. Take a two full days for The South Rim of The Grand Canyon and a full day each at The North Rim of the Grand Canyon and Monument Valley. Stay in Page, AZ for one night between the days at The North Rim and Monument Valley. Shorter day trips to Meteor Crater, Sedona (Cathedral rock), Montezuma's Castle, Wupatki National Park, Historic Flagstaff. Fly out of Phoenix in the later afternoon 9/12. Arrive home about 11PM.

Please please skip meteor crater. It is totally not worth the drive or the money. It is privately owned now and due to insurance company regulations, you can only stand on a viewing platform with others and take a gander at it. It is a painful drive out there and way overpriced. Forget it.

sounds like a plan. May I know why you would go to Flagstaff and Sedone between days you went to Grand Canyon instead of spending 2-3 days visiting Grand Canyon and move on to other places? Do you need 1 full day when going to Monument Valley? Thanks!
