Saw the Evansville Otters play at the 3rd oldest baseball field in America- Bosse Field. It's the site of Jimmy Dugan's infamous, "There's no crying in basball speech" in the movie- A League of Their Own. Went to an English pub named Fox and Hound and then a Bananna Split at Sonic.

Well decided to replace my front tires before I left!!! Went sailing again today!!! Couldn't take many pictures the wind was real intense. It took a lot to keep from tipping the boat over. Did a little fishing!! Didn't catch much but it a great day out on the water anyway!! Well tommorrow will probably be the longest drive of the whole trip. I'm trying to make it a close as I can to Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse Monument!!! 10 hours is the estimated drive time

Well drove like 500 miles today from Carbondale to Anita Lake, Iowa. My Air Conditioner went out so I'm officially roughiing it!!! Well tommorrow it's South Dakota and the Badlands!!!

Drove like 600 miles today saw the Petrified Gardens and bought a piece of Rose Quartz, the offical stone of South Dakota. I got reaquainted with I-90. Then I drove through the Badlands!!! It is the most unbelievable sight and everyone should check it out. I caught it just at dusk and I almost began to weep!!! I then drove south of 90 to Custer State Park aqt about 10pm where I couldn't get a campsite so I drove a couple miles and found a place called Spokane Valley Resort and laid the shell of my tent down and didn't bother to set it up. I just threw down a comforter and crashed out!! My stories continues at about 2 am on Saturday.

Well the saga continues when I woke up at 2 am to see a deer grazing about 4 feet from my head. Good thing he woke me up because a downpour came on about 5 minutes later. I loaded up the ride and fell asleep in my car. I woke up at 5 am and drove by Rushmore then snuck into a KOA to take a shower. I getting ready to get back on the road and will see Crazy Horse and Deadwood today before reaching Devil's Tower!!! I got over 100 pictures of the Badlands yesterday it was awesome!!! Hopefully I'll get to stop off and watch Portugal beat England!! Let's go Figo!!!!

Well had a relaxing time at Devil's Tower!!! I woke up on the side of the mountain this morning!!! It was awesome!!! Met some people from all over especially Minnesota strangely enough!!! Well Yellowstone is next and then Spokane tommorrow!!!

I took a different rout than advised through Wyoming and I'm glad I did!!! It took me through Big Horn National Forest which was beautiful but very rough on my brakes. They actually started smoking!!!! The scenery was amazing and I picked up some nice polished stones along the way!!! I stopped in Cody, Wyoming for Dinner at a place called Irma's. Ate a $11.49 Prime Rib buffet which was awesome. Got back on the road to find a campsite, which took forever, and ended up settling in a place called Wapiti (about 10 miles from Yellowstone" also known as Bear Country!!! Put all my food in the Bear Box and went to sleep. The road has me weary!!! I woke up at 5 am and was on my way to Yellowstone!!!

My entry fee to Yellowstone made me elligible for a National Park Pass, so I guess I'll have to visit some more!!! Yellowstone is absoluetly evrything it is cracked up to be!! There were awsome waterfalls, Yellowstone Lake was immaculate (so much so that I had to splash the water upon my face), I saw Bison, mule deer, elk and various other wildlife, watched the eruption of Old Faithful, saw the Painted Pots, Mammoth Hot Springs and many different structures!!! It was absolutely breathetaking!!! The pictures can not describe the power of what you see firsthand!!!

Well I anticipated being out of Yellowstone by noon, but anyone that has been there would know, That's Impossible!! I didn't get to see everything but It's not going anywhere anytime soon!!! I'll be back!!! I got into Montana around 4pm I know now why they call it the Big Sky!!! It is very rustic!!! The speed limitis 75 there but people don't follow it!!! 20 over is an on the spot fine called "Wasting Natural Resources", with no points to you're liscense!!! People were easily hummin along at 100 I tried to keep it under 90!!! Beautiful Mountains valleys, and Rivers. The water out west is immaculately clear unlike the muddy rivers of Tennessee. Drove through 60 miles of Idaho, which was also beautiful and made it to Spokane by 11pm Pacific Time. 18 hours on the road and I was ready for bed. Met my new Roomate, Cheyenne and moved my stuff in. I am now currently in my new home. Thanks to all that follwed my travels, it is a trip i could never forget!!!!!

Large Bear spotted in Anita! The bear was unusually hairy and distinctly marked. The bear was seen headed west towards the badlands! An interested onlooker described the monster as a frightening character wandering in the wilderness searching for a meaning. God Speed!

This is uncle Doug from Katie's computer. Your trip sounds awesome! Are you going to land in Spokane today? I just read your notes from the last few days and sounds like it has been a rough ride! What did we do before air conditioning? I can't imagine your plight! We wish you the best and hopefully continued safe travels. Let us know when you arrive safely to your destination.

I miss my favorite son!!!!! I'm so happy that you have arrived safe & sound. Daddy and I can't wait to come to your side of the world!! We miss you and wish you were here of course!!! I had to put the BAM to the cookout by myself (Katie's trying to pick up on a few secrets).... We will shoot a few fireworks tonight and I'll think of you seeing the beautiful skies in Washington! Dad & I will plan a late fall trip - we'll fly versus the cross country drive - that will have to wait until Retirement days when time slows down for us... We all are sending our LOVE!!!! Hey Ken nice pics. Looks like you had a good time. Can't wait until you send pictures of Washington. I did have one question though. In your picture titled a moose and her baby are you sure thats not BIGFOOT. Looks like that picture could be worth some money.
