I need to make a tour of Iraq for a school project, but I can't find any existing tours or information on what to do there and where everything is. Can anyone help?
Fly to Amman, Jordan and then you'll need to purchase a seperate ticket on Royal Jordanian Airlines. Hire professional security firm to transport you from the airport to the so call "Green Zone". I have an Amman based travel agent looking for a place to stay within the green zone. Chances are I will be staying in a private residence, renting a room. The Green Zone has most if not all Iraq government buidings, US/British HQ and is very well protected. It is possible to actually walk around and visit shops , restaurants and even an open street market. Leaving the Green Zone should be only done with a private security escort (expensive) but after all it's your life.
I'm planning on visiting Baghdad in early December.
My fiance, only because we had to postpone the wedding due to early deployment. I would realy like to go see him in a few months...anyone know if this is reasonable or even posible?
