hi jbagash, if u're a foreigner i'ld advise u to plan appropriately on safe spots to put up in dun fall prey to unscrupulous motels which is the case in any country actually.

RS, a pity u could not look past the ugliness to look at the beauty. not to worry, it happens to a lot of us. Reality is that in every place there is abundant ugliness as well as beauty. It takes nerve and humilty to look past it all to see the beauty. I've not been able to do this in many countries, but India is not one of them, thankfully cos it truly is a great country. :-)

I'll agree that India is quite exotic and interesting but in all my trips there (21 total business/pleasure) I found the country to be essentially a CESSPOOL !
