On arrival at Prestwick Airport, please telephone the branch on Freephone
0800 389 5145, on a public telephone, to let them know you have arrived. A
member of staff will collect you in their Courtesy Bus that has Arnold Clark
Car & Van Rental marked on it. They will ask you to wait outside Exit Gate
4, which is the exit next to the Bureau De Change. They should be at the
airport waiting for you, but always have to park in different areas, so a
call from you will have them on their way to Gate 4. The transfer to the
branch takes just a few minutes. For your information, the branch is at
Arnold Clark Car Rental, 196 Prestwick Road, Ayr.
We do have you returning to Edinburgh Airport early in the morning - 05:00. The branch will be closed but you should take the car to the secure parking and use the key drop. The staff will give you all the information when you pick up the car at Prestwick. The secure parking is about 500 yards or less from the airport, but anyway, there is a 24 hour shuttle running back and forth.
Make sure that the branch gives you the maps/instructions. Very simple, though. Come off the A8 heading towards Edinburgh. Miss the immediate invitation to turn left into the car park and go left down to the next roundabout and turn left into the car park there. There will be an Arnold Clark sign to show you you are in the right place. Even more noticeable are, as you turn left at the roundabout, the Enterprise car rental signs for their reserved spaces. Edinburgh is a smallish airport (if anything serving 5 million people a year can be small), but the one obvious thing looming above you is the tower.
Haver a great trip,
Willie
