SPI is a great place for a vaction, it is most unfortunate that Bubba's BBQ no longer exists. It has been replace with a sorry pile of Pelican Poop called "Captain Roy's Fish Shack", but try Jesse's Cantina for some really good BBQ Brisket, everything there is very good. I vacation at SPI every year, the beaches here in the Chesapeke Bay region BLOW.
Captain Roy's restaurant on South Padre is one of our favorites. His fish tacos are to die for! He's usually helping his quality staff just so he can hang around and talk to the customers. He's a hoot! It's nice that the restaurant is making a big hit. Previously that location changed owners annually no one had the right mix of good food and ambiance.
