If you are going to Taipei, there are several things you should do. First, you need to visit Snake Alley. It's a very interesting place. It is the only nightmarket in Taipei that offers snake. Second, you need to visit the National Palace Museum. This museum contains all the artifacts from China. Chiang Kai-Shek brought a ton of things over when he fled China. Many people say that the artifacts found in the Taiwanese National Palace Museum are even better than the ones found in Beijing.

This trip actually sounds quite like it is going to be of intense nature i.e. great.

Wow you have some intense days ahead of you. Climbing Mt Fuji and the next day getting up to see the Tsukiji Fish markets it took my friends and I a week to recover from climbing Fuji last summer. 6 hours up to the peak for sunrise and 4 hours down the next day. Just a thought. I see your going to Taiwan too. Too much too see and do check my trip out took me a longtime to figure it out but got the areas sought now. Hope this helps you if you want any advise feel free to mail me.
