A great place to have dinner in Bishop is at Whiskey Creek. The two Mexican resturants downtown are excellent also.
A trip up to Cardinal Village for breakfast is also highly recommended.

I live in Bishop. Day two is pretty ambitious. better to make this into two days. Then you could add Yosemite National Park. It's only a half hour from Mono Lake.
