Summer vacation in one amazing state. It's a shame we only had a few days. No time for the beach, or eastern Oregon, but plenty of fun in Portland and Cascades.

I have been eating at the Gallery for 30 years and make it a point to go there every time I am in Sisters. The food is not gourmet (no avocado stuffed scallops with lemon herb a reduction), but the atmosphere is classic central Oregon (i.e. pre-California invasion). The food is tasty, and portions are ample after a day outdoors. Be sure to check out the western rifle collection.

Oregon is a terrific place to vacation. The weather is great in the summer and fall. The places are spectacular at every turn.
