Change is to be expected when travelling internationally. That was certainly the case with our car rental in Flores. Ahorrent was no longer operating out of that airport, so we were left without a reservation, and a single rental car company that all too willing to charge too much money for a last minute rental. Oh well . . .

Did I mention the trouble renting a car in Santa Elana? We waited for 20 minutes at the Avis counter, but there was no sign of an employee. Fortunately, a very nice man from Budget came over. He beat the rate, arranged for transportation to the car lot, and got us on our way in minutes.

This place was fabulous!!! We had a detatched hut with private lawn and great view of Lago de Atitlan and Volcan San Pedro. The rate was less than $50 / night.
