El Yunque, the only rain forest in the U.S. National Forest Service, is 28,000 acres of lush tropical forest, unique flora and fauna, and myriad brooks and waterfalls. Hiking trails and rest huts abound, and an observation tower offers sweeping views of the northeast corner of the Island. El Portal Tropical Forest Center has film exhibits and interactive displays about the rain forest. Groups can also use the Forest Center building for special events after 5:00 PM. The rain forest is only 45 minutes from San Juan.

This was a very well deserved honeymoon. We enjoyed every minute of it. We did everything but the caves (bad timing-holidays). The only negative on this one was not enough time to do and see everything. But, we'll be back.

I visited the island just this year. I was there to bring in the new year and for the Day of the Three Kings. I spent 2 weeks there. I am going back in August for 5 weeks. I love the island the people and everything. I plan to move there as soon as I can find the house I like.

In the Caribbean I've been to PR, DR, Jamaica, Haity, Gran Cayman, and a few other. If you are looking for an inexpensive "All inclusive" PR is not the place. There are many other islands that will provide that type of admosphere. But if you are looking for a place that has the best sites and some of most amazing views in all the planet Puerto Rico has no competition.

Yes, Jamaica and Dominican have fantastic and affordable "all inclusive" resorts but you better stay in the resort or if you leave it make sure you have a guide. In PR you can safely travel the streets in anything from a cheap susuki to to a Hummer or Lotus if you like. Everything is close by due to it's superior Amrican Style H'ways and infrastructure. Not many places have this ability and certainly no where else in the Caribbean. There is a lot of construction going on in Condado at this time but it will be spectacular wheh it is completed. Old San Juan is manificent and "El Conquistador will take your breath away"

Condado doesn't have great beaches but Isla Verde's are nicer. Typically the Dorado beaches are even nicer but if you can escape to Isla Verde you can really see G-ds hand at work. From their beaches to the unimaginable bio-luminescent bay. Don't forget to visit the worlds 3rd largest under ground cave and river system in Camuy and of course The US only Rain Forest "El Yunque". If you are the beach bum type and simply want to mushroom in an all-inclusive you can go to a dozen islands fairly cheap but if you want the best museums, best night life, best food, best options then Puerto Rico will be best...for you!
