This tiny church is tucked away in the Latin Quarter behind a small park. It's immediately apparent that it has been rebuilt many times, since the architectural styles appear mis-matched from the outside. There are no flying buttresses, popular in the 12th century, because of the small size. Inside, most of the Gothic design is concealed behind the iconostasis (screen separating the nave and sanctuary in Byzantine churches).

This beautiful church is located on the primarily pedestrianized streets of the Latin Quarter, amongst the narrow medieval lanes. The clock tower (1250) holds the second oldest bell in Paris (1412); the oldest can be found at Eglise St-Merri (the bell was made in 1331).

At first sight, the Latin Quarter is a tacky student district with cheap fast food restaurants, smokey British pubs, and souvenir shops. But there are still many quiet medieval streets to explore and, if you stay away from Rue de La Harpe, some good food at affordable prices.
