If you can get to Pike Place on a weekday, it's much more enjoyable. During the summer weekends, PP can be pretty crowded. If you can deal with the crowds, its a totally unique experience. Outdoor market mixed with quaint and quirky shops, unique restaurants and lots of fresh produce and flowers. Great place to find that perfect Seattle souvenier.

This is the best place on the planet to get fast fish. Shout out your order when you get to the window and watch out for the seagulls. I had a fish fillet stolen right off my tray while walking to a table! This is near the Ye Olde Curiosity Shop. To be honest, everyplace on the waterfront is good eating, but we like Ivars.

While on the water front be sure to stop and check out this store. I really miss the old building that this was in before, but you still can't beat this place for odd stuff. There are real shrunken heads, old time vending machines, a player piano, and a real mummy!

If you only visit one tourist attraction, let this be it. The cost to ride the elevator to the observation deck is a bit steep, but worth it on a clear day to see the view of the city. There's nothing that says "Seattle" like the Space Needle.

************************************* The Olympic Sculpture Garden near the waterfront is an amazing urban space. Don't miss it. ************************************* I suggest that on a clear day you take a ferry to Bainbridge Island, and wander around the little town of Clinton*. Have lunch at Cafe Nola. ( * I'm sure you mean Winslow, as Clinton is on a different island. ) From the ferry you will have great views of the Seattle skyline, and, on a clear day, Mt. Rainier, the Cascades, the Olympics, and Mt. Baker, which is near the Canadian border.
