Grand Canyon Caverns is a natural limestone cavern 210 feet underground and the largest dry cavern in the U.S. (See "History" link also). You enter and leave the caverns by means of an elevator. We offer a 45 minute, 3/4 mile guided walking tours. Tours depart every half hour daily except Christmas Day, the only day the Caverns are closed.
Winter Tour Hours: 10am - 4pm Our Great Regular Tour Adults: $14.95 each
Our campus lies at an elevation of 7200 feet. Drink water and pace yourself if you are not accustomed to our thin air.
We're open daily in May from 9:00 AM until 5:00 PM MST, and Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday evenings from 5:30 PM to 9:30 PM MST (we may close earlier in poor weather).

Get in early and take the day. One end to the other. Could have used 2 days to do more of the village, but we were walked out and it was so HOT. We used buses mostly. Food at cafeteria was terrible. Wished we had researched food places at the park better. Hermit's was best place in the park.
