Arvin: Regarding London, it is quite convenient to see the Royal stuff quickly there are 2 free tours which you can do the entire Royal Tour in like 2-3 hrs. Then maybe visit some museums later.
The 2nd day in London we can travel via the underground the entire day. Places include Football stadiums, bridges and cathedrals if you guys do not mind.

@Joshua: 5 cities seems abit too little. I generally recommend any city with a subway system, makes traveling way easier. It is kinda dull to spend more than 3 days in one city really excluding any trips to nearby cities/towns/attractions of course. Most of the wonders of the world in a city could be completed in one-two days.
Guess one of us has to miss out. Unless we actually go visit Liverpool and Manchester first, cos I don't mind not going around London (maybe a bit lol). Tricky for Paris, but it would be easier in a loop. Where would the 2 days actually be saved, other than the Paris-London train. Everything else should be minimised by travelling overnight.
Main thing is the railpass plus domestic airfare. Would want to make full use of a 15-day global eurail pass (which is where our two weeks will overlap), unless we take a eurail selectpass and book flights here and there.
Day 1, Major sights or Paris. Hope I can figure out the Metro. Chatelet is a pain to navigate.
Day 2, Louvre am if you guys do not mind staring at white sculpture and paintings. It is quite large but I think half a day is possible. And whatever is left.
Check train schedules. Plan will fall apart if there are no night train services.
Recheck intended destinations, is there enough to do in places like berne, marseille, milan?
Look up prices, start price estimates, esp for hostel/budget hotel.
4 nights london
3 nights paris
1 night madrid (train from paris to madrid)
2 nights barcelona
1 night lyon (friend's place?)
1 night berne (train from lyon to milan?)
3 nights milan (day trip to venice or maybe other way round?)
4 nights rome (day trips to florence and pompeii)
2 nights munich (train from rome to munich, cousin's place?)
1 night berlin (train from munich to berlin)
2 nights amsterdam (train from berlin to amsterdam)
Far too crowded, not enough time to relax. Any place to cut?
Maybe go straight from barcelona to milan, cut out switzerland.
Or maybe spain and holland too ambitious?
