Sandy Beach is a popular spot with the locals and offers a different vantage point of the Blow Hole. From Waikiki go to Ala Wai Blvd make a right onto Kalakaue Ave then a right on Kapiolani Blvd. Stay in the left hand lane until you see the on ramp to H-1 east. Take the ramp onto the freeway and continue to Hawaii Kai you will be going past Hanauma Bay. Travel about 1.5 miles after Hanauma Bay to reach the Blow Hole. There is a parking lot for at the Holona Blow Hole.

The Kalalau Trail is a trail along the Nā Pali Coast. The trail starts on the north shore of the island, where the main highway ends at Keʻe Beach. The first two miles (3 km) of the trail are moderately strenuous and open to the public. This portion of the trail leads to Hanakapiai stream and beach. The trail beyond Hanakapiʻai is open only to those with camping permits.
