YEAH!!!! So excited for you two! I'm praying that you have safe travels and enjoy each day you are "across the pond"!!! I can't wait to see pictures!!! Love you both! Annie
We have made it here successfully! It is now 6:00pm local time, 1 o'clock back home.
We have already seen a lot. St.Paul's church where princess diana and charles were married. The London Bridge and Millenium Bridge. We also went to the Tate Museum and afterwards went up top and had coffee overlooking the city (our favorite part so far.) We went along the streets, stopped at markets and small parks along the way. The weather has been great and we are now on our way for some fish and chips.
We are not able to put pictures in yet but stay tuned!....
Wow!!!!! It sounds like you two are getting a lot in. I'll bet the church was amazing! Boy, I could sure go for some authentic fish & chips right now. Anyway, just make sure you both stay on your toes. Becky and I are praying for you both. Love, Pops
yeah, we met some cool local mates yesterday (one from wales, one from japan) who both work for PUMA here in London designing shoes. It was pretty cool chatting with them. We have a full day planned today and yes pops, we (or at least me) are going to get some fish and chips today! The weather again is beautiful, not too hot and clear skies. The hostel we are staying at kind of reminds me of summer camp a bit without all the mosquitoes and more foreign people. Stand by for more...Mike
saturday and we are in paris. cool city but it smells like the bathrooms at old municipal stadium; we have seen a ton of cathedrals, churches, and small back alleys; with a trip to Versailles planned for tomorrow. the people here have been pretty nice but there is seriously pee everywhere. the markets have been awesome and we bought a lunch of cheese, bread and juice for eight euros; great deal, considering we had some very fine cheese; the eiffel tower was quite a site to see and the city in general hqs such beautiful architecture; mike... oh yeah, one more thing, the fish and chips were great.
it was quite the day! we spent a lot of time sitting and people watching; we did a ton of walking and often we had to stop to sit: not like it was so horrible! we watched street shows, sat by the water, had coffee, and croissants, and crepes and lots of yummy things! we spent a lot of time on the back alleys and streets going through little cafes and shops and creperries; it was much better than being on the main streets as they were packed!
my feet are hurting and i am hoping mike will let us do the public transport more but he is laughing as i write this so i think that is a no; we only used the bus once in london besides going to our hotel and the bus didn;t even drop us off where we wanted because the road was closed; ironic; stay tuned for versailles and venice!!!!!!erin
So glad to hear you are keeping up with your hectic itinerary, but am sorry to hear your feet are hurting. Enjoy each and every venue and we look forward each day to read of your adventure. Love ya both and as always, think safety first. Mom
Love you both!
