Don't be deceived by the park's name. Oh sure, there's plenty of wind at Wind Cave, but there's also more to see and do than visit the world-class, namesake cave. Above ground you'll find rolling prairie, interesting rock formations, and beautiful pine forests open to exploration. The park is also home to native wildlife such as bison, elk, pronghorn, mule deer, coyotes, and prairie dogs.
Wind Cave is just one of the natural, historic, and scenic attractions in the western South Dakota vicinity. Near at hand are the Black Hills National Forest's Badlands National Park, Mount Rushmore National Memorial, Jewel Cave National Monument, Custer State Park, and all of the outdoor recreational opportunities they provide.

- Na vznik tejto veže sa viaže legenda, ktorá hovorí, že údajne sa 3 dievčatá vydali do prérie trhať kvetiny. Zrazu sa na ne vyrútili tri medvede a aby sa zachránili, tak vyliezli na skalu. Ale medvede sa vydali na skalu za nimi. Avšak Veľký Duch ochránil úbohé devy tým, že vyzdvihol skalu vysoko k nebu... . Medvede sa na skale nemôhli udržať a svojimi drápami, keď padali dole, vyryli do stien skaly hlboké ryhy.... , toľko legenda. Čo sa týka skutočnosti, tak tieto ryhy vznikli sopečnou činnosťou. Diablova veža poslúžila ako "kulisa" aj režisérovi Stephanovi Spielbergovi k natočeniu prvého sci-fi filmu - Blízke stretnutia tretieho druhu. Veža je vysoká 300 metrov
