Well hello everyone. We are still in Carson City and will be here until the 30th. My girlfriend's kids are going camping with their dad so we cannot go to Chiloquin until they get back. We are having fun. Yesterday we hung out at the pool, of course. I have managed to figure out what happened to the RV and it is now fixed. It was a circuit breaker that had popped. I just had to reset it and everything is working again. We are heading to Lake Tahoe today just to sit and relax. I have finished my second book so I will start the 3rd and final one of the series. Well take care and talk to you soon. Love Joyce and Michelle
Hi all. We arrived safely in Carson City tonight. We decided to drive straight through because our house batteries are having an issue and I needed to see what is going on with them. It basically means if I am not plugged in somewhere I have no power to the RV. The cab is on a different battery so it is working fine. I am sure it is something simple like a fuse but need to read the manual to figure it out. Anyway we are here at my friend Kims and happy to be in a actual house for a change. Well wanted to let you know, talk to you soon. I will be here until Monday then heading back to Oregon. Not sure if I will log on again before I get home or not, so don't worry. Love to all. Joyce and Michelle
Hey there everyone. We have arrived safely in Salt Lake City. It was a long drive due to road construction so we are pretty tired. We got settled and headed for the pool and stayed there for a couple of hours. It is very hot here. We are not going to do any site-seeing this trip as we are heading out again tomorrow. We might drive straight through to Carson City Nevada instead of stopping in Winnamucca. Depends on how tired I get. We don't have a reservation for tomorrow night since there is not a KOA in that area. This trip has reminded me of traveling with my parents and seeing so much of the country. My parents said I have been in 26 states but I don't know which ones. Some of our travels were when I was 3, so of course I don't remember. I am hoping Michelle is amazed at this country as much as I was at her age. Funny how I still get those feelings as I drive and see just how beautiful everything is. The Rockies were breath-taking, and the really do have a blue shade to them. Then there is the Black Mountains of South Dakota, who have earned their name equally. I found myself wishing I could take pictures of these sights, but that is difficult to do while driving, LOL. Michelle took a few for me, but they are blurry due to the motion of the RV. I did stop a couple of times to try to capture the beauty, but I must admit the picture definitely doesn't do it justice. These images will forever be in my memory and hopefully they will be in Michelle's as well. This trip has been very good for us, we have enjoyed the time together, and actually have not had to many squabbles. If I need some time to myself, I just take her to the pool and I get a break by reading my books. I am on the second book now and half way through it. Well will close this for today. Hope you are all doing wonderful and will chat more next time. If I don't log on tomorrow don't be concerned, I may not have internet until I get to Carson City. Love Joyce and Michelle
Well hi again everyone. It is June 23rd and we are now in Laramie Wyoming. This is just a place to sleep for the night, then we will head to Salt Lake City. It is very windy here, worse than the Gorge winds. I did laundry and we went grocery shopping as we were getting low on a few things. We BBQ'd steaks for dinner, which was really yummy. Michelle and I will relax this evening, probably watch some movies and maybe do a craft kit I bought for our trip. It is a kit that you get to paint coffee mugs with designs of your choosing. I thought it would be cute for us to each paint one and leave them in the RV to use. Michelle has been nagging me to make them ever since I told her about them. Will try to upload some new pictures as the internet is much faster here. Hopefully they will load. Well better closed for now. Take care and will chat again tomorrow night. Love Joyce and Michelle
really good talking to you tonight. So glad to see the great pics and how much fun you are having. Enjoy you traveling home and see ya when you get here. Be safe. Love ya. Bea
Well hello everyone. We are still at Mt. Rushmore. It is Monday June 22nd. We went to Mt. Rushmore to look at the things we missed and get some gifts. We also went to the President's slide, which is a alpine slide that you have to ride a tram up to. It was really fun, but Michelle did not like the tram ride. She was afraid of being up so high. Then we came back to the campground and went on a horseback ride for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Boy is my butt sore and my knees were killing me by the time we got done. Michelle had a blast, her horse's name was Handy and I rode KC. We then ate dinner and hit the water slide until it closed. She has now taken her shower and is ready for bed. Will probably watch a movie first. We head for Laramie Wyoming tomorrow morning, so will log on again tomorrow evening once we arrive there. Take care and will write more soon. Love to all. Joyce and Michelle
Well hello again everyone. Michelle and I are on our 2nd day at Mt. Rushmore. It is June 22 and around 11pm. We just got back from the lighting ceremony at Crazy Horse's Memorial. It was a lazer show also and was really good. We also went to Jewel Cave today, nothing spectacular, but it was interesting. We stopped at the Flintstone theme park and had fun there for a while. Michelle hit the pool this afternoon but it was really crowded, she did have fun on the water slide. We hung out there for about an hour before we went the the lighting ceremony. We even got to ride in the Flintstone Mobile. LOL Tomorrow we will go back to Mt. Rushmore and also do the Presidents Slide and then in the afternoon we will go horseback riding, then rest for our next days travel to Laramie Wyoming. Well that was our day. I am no relaxing with a cup of orange and spice tea, Michelle is in bed for the night, waiting for the tooth fairy to come as she lost a tooth today also. Well I will sign off for now. Will write more tomorrow. Take care of yourselves, we love you. Joyce and Michelle
Hi everyone. We are safely in Hill City South Dakota. We went to the lighting ceremony at Mt. Rushmore tonight. It was really beautiful. I must admit I thought the sculpture would be larger, but it is only that we are so far away. The internet and cell signals are very low here so I won't be able to upload the pictures. We will be here for three days and plan to go horse back riding, will go see Chief Crazy Horse and of course the Flintstones theme park. We will also have to hit the pool here and the water slide here. Well will sign off for now, just wanted to let you know we are safe. Take care and will write more soon. Joyce and Michelle
Hello again. It is Friday 6/19 and we have arrived in Greybull Wyoming. It was a beautiful drive, although we had to go over the rockies, which was interesting as the speed was 25 mph for most of the way. We got here about 5pm as we stopped in Cody Wy, to get some groceries and have lunch. Once we got here, we settled in and we went to the pool and relaxed for a while. We are now relaxing and enjoying some movies we also got at Walmart. We leave tomorrow for Keystone SD and Mt. Rushmore. We will be there for 3 days and are looking forward to it. Well I will sign off for now. Take care and will write more tomorrow. Joyce and Michelle
Well hello again. It is June 18th at 10pm. Michelle and I took a tour of the lower part of Yellowstone Park today. It was nice but we are tired from all the sightseeing. Michelle was ready to go back to the RV about half way through the trip, but managed to hang in there. I understand this stuff is rather boring for someone her age. She would much rather hang out at the pool and flirt with the boys. Oh yes we are at that age now. She has officially begun to go boy crazy. LOL. We saw lots of things including buffalo, a bald eagle, elk, and a number of different kinds of birds. NO bears though, which was fine with me. We leave tomorrow for Greybull, Wyoming. We should arrive around 1pm if we get out by 9am. We will only be there one day so not much planned except relaxing and of course Michelle will want to hit the pool. I keep telling her I could have saved a lot of money by just staying home and hanging out at the college pool. She was not amused. LOL. We took lots of pictures today but the internet service is so slow here that I will have to wait to upload them. I found out it is part of the parks department in this area that is limiting the WIFI and cell signals. They don't want it ruining the natural habitat. Well that is it for now. Take care each of you and will log on again tomorrow night. Love to you all. Joyce and Michelle
