Mt. Rushmore Trip

6/8/09 Michelle and I will be going on an adventure. Our first RV road trip. I will be updating this every evening for those of you who would like to follow us on this exciting adventure. I will post photos from time to time and let you know what we have been up to and what we will be doing next. We leave on Sunday 6/14/09, but our trip doesn't begin until 6/15/09, as we will be stopping to visit grandma on our way out of town. Take care and will write more soon. The Lindseys

Well looks like the first 5 days of our trip is going to be scattered thunderstorms. We won't have sunshine until Friday. But on the bright side, Michelle and I will get some special, close bonding time. And I mean close. Oh and there is nothing like a thunderstorm in an RV!!! LOL. This may turn out to be more of an adventure than we planned on. Still looking forward to it. For those of you keeping track of us. I should have internet access until we get to Winnemucca. There are no KOA campgrounds in that area, so not sure if I will have access. But will have it again once I get to Carson City, NV. Also won't have it when I am in Chiloquin, OR. So don't panic if you don't hear from me, just call my cell and I am sure I will answer. Love to you all. The Lindseys

Well hello everyone. It is 4:33pm and we have arrived in Twin Falls, ID safely. The trip was fine, just hit a little road construction, but nothing we couldn't handle. We are starving so off to find some food and then Michelle wants to hit the pool already. Oh and the gift store, spending mom's money already. LOL. Will write more tonight. Well hello again. It is now 10:24pm. Michelle is reading in bed and I am doing a little work on the internet. Mostly trying to get the pictures from today loaded for you to see. This is a new program for me so I am struggling with the permissions. Michelle and I got settled in then hit the store or some shopping, got a cute onesie for my grandson. Michelle bought her souvenior pin for the state of Idaho and I got my magnet. Then we hit the pool. Michelle made a friend as soon as she got in the pool. I admire her ability to make friends so easily. Her friends name is Brook, they live in Boise and vacation in this area yearly. The nice thing was because the girls became friends I also made friends with Brook's mom. It was nice to have an adult to talk to. She is a single mom as well, raising two boys and a girl, very much like I was when I met Brad, except her kids are older. We had a very nice chat and should see them again tomorrow. We are going to go to Shoshone Falls, and maybe even the Shoshone Ice Caves. Michelle also wants to rent a paddle boat for a little while. Guess we could use the exercise. LOL We relaxed and watched a couple of movies tonight, it was fun and relaxing. Well that is about it for tonight. I hope you are all fine and having a nice summer. Will sign on again tomorrow night. Hi all, It is 4:14pm Tuesday June 16th, we are on our second day in Twin Falls. We went to Shoshone Falls today. It was very beautiful. I am uploading pictures so you can see it. Michelle said it was pretty but she also found it a little boring. LOL. She would rather hang out at the pool which we did as soon as we got home. My computer got infected with viruses, so I had to go and buy a anti-virus program and clean it up. Looks like they are all gone now and I can again access the internet again. Later tonight, Michelle and I are renting a paddle boat and go out on the pond here. Tomorrow we are off to Yellowstone Park. Will be there for two days. Well better sign off for now. Hi Guys. We are just settling in for the night on Tuesday June 16th. It is about 10:30pm. Michelle is in bed and should be exhausted. We did not go for a paddle boat ride, as Michelle opted for another swim. We were out there for about 2 hours with her friend Brook. This time Brook's cousins were with her and they all had a blast playing chicken and a bunch of other games. I BBQ'd steaks for dinner and they were really good! Amazing how good food tastes when you are camping. We are heading out at around 9am tomorrow headed for West Yosemite. It is about a 4 hour drive from here so should arrive around 1pm. I am having a problem loading the pictures onto the website so will get them added as soon as I can. I am uploading a new program that is supposed to speed up the process, but am not holding my breath. I think it is the wireless connection here that is slowing everything down. Hi all. Well it is June 17th about 3:10pm and we have arrived in West Yellowstone. We will be going on a tour of Yellowstone tomorrow. The lower loop, which includes Old Faithful. It should be great especially since I don't have to drive! Well we are off to the gift store to add to our collections and of course Michelle wants to hit the pool. LOL. Hi Again. It is now 9pm and we are watching movies and relaxing. We of course went to the pool today and Michelle met some new friends. I got the chance to read one of my books I bought for the trip. It is by Nora Roberts and is the first one of a series. I bought all three, to make sure I could finish the series. It has been a long time since I have been able to read for enjoyment. Usually have my face in text books so much by summer the last thing I want to do is read. LOL The weather here is not great. It poured and the forecast is calling for thunderstorms and snow tonight. The high is supposed to be in the 50's and the low is calling for the low 30's. I keep asking myself "Why are we here"? Oh well it is only for a couple of days then we will be in Wyoming. Hopefully the weather will be better. Well am going to sign off for now and enjoy the last of the movie. Take care and I will log on tomorrow to tell you about our tour. Hopefully we stay dry.
