New Street Station: When you arrive at the station, follow the way out signs to the left of the escalators on the ground floor (don’t take the escalators up into the mall). Walk out of the station and towards the Boots Chemists store. Cross over the street and turn left and go through the tunnel. When you come out you will have a very large building with huge silver reflectors on the outside on your right. Follow the sidewalk around this building, keeping it on your right hand side. You will come to the Digbeth High Street. Turn left at the Digbeth High Street and walk down to the fourth street, this is Milk Street. Take a left at Milk Street (South Birmingham College and the Big Bull’s Head Pub will be on the corner.) Walk down Milk Street to the first street on the left, which is Coventry Street. We are on right on the corner of Coventry and Milk Streets.

If you are going to be trying local pubs- try their local brews. I really loved the bitters- which are not bitter, at all.

Very jealous!

Sounds like you're having a great time! I'd love to hear more about how the hostels were. Have fun!

Can you tell me how much a euros equals $1 - and what can one euro cost - can you give me a basic idea on how much basic things cost

example
a coke
small bag of chips
gum

- your basic lunch?

I know my questions are random

i'm trying to figure out how much things will cost -i heard that right now is a good time to go to the united kingdom because the $1 is worth more then it use be in UK - have you heard anything like this?

Mary - We don't use Euros in England. It's Pounds. £1.00 = $1.65

You guys should have come to Devon! Theres some amazing landscapes and sea towns down here. I'm glad you are enjoying your trip - Next time i'm in Sailsbury i will have to check out the chocolate shop you mentioned.

JBN - I talk about the hostels in the trip journal more. Really our only complaint thus far has been with the location of Birmingham Backpackers. We were in a second building down the street that didn't have internet access and did not feel safe to walk to after night (just very industrial area that didn't have many people around).

Mary - ever heard of Google? Do an internet search for exchange rates and try to find prices of items that way... it should be fairly easy.

Jess - I will add Devon to my list to see next trip, thanks!
