Colorado River smooth water float trips begin with an motor coach or van ride down the two-mile long Glen Canyon Dam access tunnel. Your motorized pontoon raft waits at the foot of the Glen Canyon dam, which towers 583 feet above you. You will depart on your downstream journey experiencing one of the most dramatic stretches of river found in the western United States. Your fifteen-mile float down the Colorado River takes you from Glen Canyon Dam to Lees Ferry, Arizona.

Beginning May 1, trips leave at 7:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. You must check in at the Page headquarters at least 30 minutes prior to departure. Return times are 1:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. APPROXIMATELY.
2009 Rates: Adults $74, Children $64, plus $6 river use fee for each passenger. You will board a motor coach or van at the tour headquarters located on 130 Sixth Avenue in downtown Page.

While many incredible formations can be seen from the main roads, the best views can be had from the 17-mile loop road that runs through the valley. The road is open 6AM-8:30PM in the summer (May - Sep) and 8AM-4:30PM in the winter (Oct - Apr).

The loop is not paved and can be quite rough and dusty, but most vehicles should be able to manage. You are not permitted to deviate from the loop drive without a native guide present. The loop drive can be done in as little as 30-40 minutes, but most visitors will take several hours to enjoy the scenery. There is no shortage of native guides eager to take you (for a fee, of course!) to the restricted areas.
