Directions: Trains between Schiphol and Central Station depart about every 10 minutes between 6am and 1am, and once every hour between 1am and 6am. A one way ticket will cost you € 3.20 from a vending machine, you will need some coins though. Trains to Amsterdam Central Station generally depart from platform 1 or 2.
Downtown: From the main entrance of the 'Central Station', walk towards the ' Damrak '. Pass the ' Victoria Hotel '. Take the first alley on your right until you reach the end which is 'Nieuwendijk'. We are at number 100 .
Things to Do:
• Melkweg- cinema/concert venue
• Café Lust- Saturday concerts- free starting at 8 pm (Take tram 12 or 25 to Cornelis Troost plein- Only 1 minute walk)
• Winston Kingdom—8 euro, opens at 9
• New’s café before 9:45 pub crawl- 20 euro
• The main shopping area in Amsterdam is located near Central Station. Starting from CS you'll find the streets Nieuwendijk, Damrak and Kalverstraat with its mall, Kalvertoren. Behind the Royal Palace you can find the Magna Plaza mall. A great alternative is the ‘negen straatjes’ the 9 little streets crossing the city canals. Plenty of trendy clothing shops here!
